7/5/06 ~ I just registered Emily and I for a Mommy and Me dance class.  We start August 10th.  Emily just LOVES to dance.  Anytime she hears good dancing music she grabs me and we dance away.  She mimics everything I do so I think she will do great in a dance class.  I can't wait to buy her a bunch of cute leotards and little ballet slippers!

5/28/06 ~ Check out a video of Ryan's T-ball home run at:  www.mybeachbabies.com/homerun.mpg

5/28/06 ~ School's out for summer!  Ryan's last day of preschool was Tuesday. I can't believe how fast his first year of school went.  He did so well.  I'm very proud of him.

We finally bought Emily some big girl furniture.  We bought her a Disney Princess bedroom set from Rooms To Go Kids.  It is really cute.  There are pictures in Emily's gallery.  I had bought a quilt from Pottery Barn Kids for her, but she loves princesses so much that I just bought a Disney princess comforter set for her to use for now.  We bought a lamp and some Princess decorations for the wall that are removable and repositional so we can take them down at any time and switch to the PBK quilt.  Emily is doing pretty well sleeping in her new bed.  It is a twin with a trundle.  She even has a Sleeping Beauty pillow-top mattress.  My favorite part of the bedroom set if the heart-shaped mirror that hangs over the dresser...it is too cute!  Robert went to Orlando for a work conference a week and a half ago.  I was able to go on Tuesday and spend the night with him.  The conference rented out MGM Studios for the night.  It was fun.  That is pretty much all the has happened lately.

5/13/06 ~ Today was the last day of T-ball.  Ryan had a good season.  He really learned a lot and had a wonderful coach.  Today Ryan had some of his best hits yet and did very well throwing also.  He was the last batter of the the game and he hit a home run!!!! All the kids got very nice trophies with their name and team on it.  I'm glad Ryan had the opportunity to participate.  I think he is going to try soccer in the fall.

I had Ryan's IEP meeting for his speech on Thursday.  We decided that next year he will attend the speech preschool class that the school district offers.  He will be going on M/W/F for 4 hours a day.  So he will be increasing his speech therapy time from 90 minutes a week to 720 minutes a week!  One of the teachers was at the meeting and she described the preschool class.  It sounds like a wonderful program that stresses both speech/articulation and kindergarten readiness skills.  I am very excited about the class and I think Ryan will love it!  I am also planning on having him attend a new preschool near us on T/TH mornings.  So he will have 5 days of preschool, for the price of 2 and will get lots of speech therapy to prepare him for Kindergarten.

4/10/06 ~ Ryan and Emily got new car seats! Ryan reached the 40 inch limit on his Evenflo Triumph 5 so it was time to get a new seat. I'm not comfortable putting him in a belt-postioning high back booster yet so I needed a seat that would accommodate a preschooler.

The Britax Marathon was the answer. It will hold a child up to 65 lbs and 49 inches (Ryan is 33 lbs, 40 inches and Emily is 27 lbs and around 34 inches). So the kids will be able to stay in 5 point harnesses for a few more years. Britax seats are expensive (the Marathons were $269.99/seat), but the are the top of the line in safety. The seats were extremely easy to install using LATCH. I installed them myself (usually Robert has to help) and they do NOT budge at all....they are awesome seats!

And they are cute too. Here is Ryan's pattern: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_7/601-7641371-0365736?%5Fencoding=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B0002EARAW

and Emily's: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_1/601-7641371-0365736?%5Fencoding=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B0006HBRXQ

The kids also got new bikes while the inlaws were visitng. Ryan got a new 14" Tonka big boy bike with training wheels. It is red, black and yellow. He loves it and he rides it like a pro! Emily got a Disney Princess trike because she loves princesses! If I put a pretty dress or skirt on her she will twirl around and say "Look, I'm a princess!"

One of the days the inlaws were here I ended up with a nail in the tire of my brand new van. We spent a whole afternoon tracking down the correct tire and having it replaced at the dealership. The good news was the warranty covered part of the tire so I only had to pay $47.

We finally tried the Church by our house this weekend. We think we will like it. At first we didn't see a place to sit with the kids if they get loud and ansy so we just sat in the general church area. Well half way through Emily was getting ansy and talking to us loudly so I took her outside and a nice lady pointed me to the "cry room" It is a Sunday school room that is seperated from the Church by sliding glass doors. It has kids tables, chairs, toys, puzzles and coloring books. Plus there is a TV that broadcasts the mass (even though you can still see through the glass doors) and there is audio speaker so you can hear the mass too. It worked out perfectly. So even though most of the Church population is 60 or older, we are going to register and make it our home parish.

3/26/06 ~ Well I stopped updating so we could sell our house...now that it is sold I can start updating again We received another offer on the house shortly after the last time I updated. The buyer had a few title issues with the property she was selling, but it all ended up working out fine. We closed on the sale of our old house at the beginning of December. We stayed at my mom's for a week and then in a very nice single-family vacation home in Heritage Harbour. We closed on our new house on December 16, just in time for Christmas. We moved in that weekend and spent Christmas in our new home. You can see some house pictures at http://www.snapfish.com/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=39357638/a=6169104_6169104/t_=6169104. We still have to hang some pictures and decorations and get Emily some big girl furniture (she has a toddler bed in our room), but we are getting there.

We leased a new van in January. It is a 2006 Toyota Sienna. It is very nice.

On March 10th we added a member to our family. His name is Riley and he is a 3 month old cocker spaniel puppy. He is very sweet and makes a nice addition to our family. There are some pictures of him in Ryan's Gallery.

Let's see what else??? Ryan is playing T-ball on Saturday mornings at Heritage Harbour. They have over 160 three and four year olds playing. It is lots of fun. Ryan is still enjoying preschool and is receiving speech therapy at Virgil Mills Elementary. Speech has really helped him become more outgoing. He talks a lot more in public now and interacts more comfortably with other kids and adults. He is such a smart little guy. The stuff he knows just amazes me. Ryan loves being a big brother and he does an awesome job.

Emily is getting so big. She is 20 months old now and talking up a storm. She is even using complete sentences. Her favorite phrase right now is "stop that". She enjoys singing and dancing. We go to a music program called Music with Mar and she gets up with the instructor and has a blast. I think she is going to be a performer or maybe a dentist because she is always try to look in our mouths She is such a smartie too. Emily really looks up to Ryan and tries to do everything he does. She loves princesses, but she loves to rough house with Ryan too!

Ryan and Emily enjoy boat rides on Gpa's boat and trips to Disney. We have been twice since the last update. We caved and bought annual passes so I'm sure we will be going a few more times this year.

I hope everyone is doing well and I will try to update often!

9/12/05 ~ Apparently I need to stop updating about selling our house. Not long after I posted the update below, our realtor called and said the 2nd buyer also could not get financing so they are backing out of the contract. He called the agent of back-up offer and they found a house this weekend so they are out too. This is getting ridiculously frustrating. People need to make sure they can afford the house before they put an offer in on it. So we are now starting over for a 3rd time. Wish us luck.

9/12/05 ~ We relisted our house on Tuesday 8/30 and had another contract on Sunday 9/4. The buyer this time is a teacher with Manatee county schools. He is married and he also has a music program in the area. Robert and I feel better about the contract this time around, but we are still waiting for a commitment letter from their mortgage company. They need to get it to us by Wednesday so we know they actually have financing. Hopefully they will get it and this contract will work out. We also have a back-up offer so if this does fall through for some reason, we have a back-up to consider.

The last two weekends we have spent on Gpa's boat. We went skiing, to the beach, etc. Robert actually skied yesterday!!!! He got up and had 2 good runs. I have been skiing ok too. I get up almost every time and go for a good ways. Now I just have to build up my stamina. My legs and arms do fine, but my lower back starts to hurt after a while from squatting so I have to let go and rest for a minute.

Let's see, what else is new. Not too much. The kids are doing great. Ryan is loving preschool! He gets so excited to go on school mornings. They are doing some awesome projects and work. I have been very impressed with the school and Ryan's teachers, Miss Callie and Miss Kim. They always have 2 activities set up when the kids first arrive and they are dancing and having fun when I pick him up in the afternoon. They have made "aquariums", building blocks, smoothies, mouse masks, sun catchers, playdoh, etc. They have played/painted with shaving cream and finger paints. They have snack time, outside playtime, storytime, and learning center time. Ryan has been telling me he goes pee pee in the potty at school and Miss Callie confirmed he goes at every potty break. They other day after his shower, I was getting Ryan's clothes out and I heard the toliet seat go up. I looked in the bathroom and Ryan was standing there peeing. He flushed and washed his hands. He did a great job. Now if I could just convince him to do that every time he has to go instead of going in the pull-up. He is just learning so much from school. I'm so glad we decided to send him this year.

Emily is a bunch of fun these days. She is all over the place and into everything, but she is so smart. She is really working on talking. She repeats a lot of what we say and has started to say Hi, Hello, Yes, No, Thank You on an everyday basis. She has learned quite a few new words too like Gpa, boat, baby. Baby is one of her favorite new words. She will take her dolly and hold it, pat it on the back and say Baby. She also has said I Love You. I was holding her and cuddling her and said I love you and she said I love you right back to me. It was so sweet. I am taking her to a music class/play time on Tuesday for an hour while Ryan is at school and she seems to enjoy it. I am also talking her to a mommy and me playtime called Alphabet Soup that focuses on play and literacy. It is on Thursdays for an hour while Ryan is in school. We had our first class on Thursday and Emily had a blast. She didn't want to leave! I'm enjoying the little bit of one on one time with her!

8/30/05 ~ Well we received some sucky news this afternoon. The buyer claims he can't get financing and backed out of the contract. So our house goes back on the market. The house did appraise for $326,000 so that was good. The buyer was really shady and I think he was hoping the appraisal would come back low and when it appraised out he used financing as an excuse. I guess it doesn't really matter now. I hope we find another buyer who can get financed very soon.

8/27/05 ~ We spent last weekend in Illinois. We arrived very late Thurday night and didn't get to Sterling until close to 3 am Friday morning. We slept for a few hours and then went out for breakfast with Abel. It was good to see Abel again. It sounds like things are going very well for him. Then we went to Thomas Park and let the kids play for a little bit. They couldn't play too much because everything was metal and really hot. I don't think Ryan was too impressed :) The parks down here are all newer and some even have sun shades over them. Anyway, after that we went to Arthurs for lunch. I ordered the 21 potato and it wasn't all that great. After lunch we met with Angie and Sarah for awhile and then went back to Robert's parents' house. They ordered Angelo's for dinner then Angie and Jake and Sarah and Jared came over to talk and watch a movie. We went to bed late again.

On Saturday, we went to the big, booming Northland mall...haha. Then it was the new Candlelight for lunch followed by Meet the Comets at Newman. Ryan thought it was kind of cool to see where his mommy and daddy went to high school. It was weird to be at Newman and only know a handful of people. Saturday evening we met Sarah and Jared and Angie and Jake at Bennigan's for dinner. After dinner it was time for our 5 year high school reunion. We had a very nice time. Megan did a great job organizing the reunion and we had a great time catching up with everyone. It was good to see everyone again. We took the kids with us and they had a blast too! They were running around and dancing up a storm. They fell asleep about 3/4 of the way through the reunion so we laid them down in the double stroller. They were so good and we were able to stay for the entire time. We left about Midnight or so. I'm glad we decided to make the trip because the reunion was a lot fun.

On Sunday, we slept in until about 8ish or so. Then we packed and got ready to go. We were on the road to Rockford at around 10am. We went to JuJu's house to visit with her family, my Papa Joe, and Jim and Nicholas. It was nice to see everyone. Papa didn't stay long, and I was a little disappointed we didn't get to spend much time together. JuJu made a yummy lunch of ham sandwiches and cheesy potatoes. The kids ate mac n cheese and cookies :) It was a good lunch. After lunch we left and drove to O'Hare. We returned the rental car, ate dinner, and waited at the gate. We were flying American and they changed our gate 3 times so we were at a total of 4 different gates. We were getting a little tired of packing everyone up and walking back and forth through the terminal. Our plane was delayed by 1 1/2 hours or so. We got back to Tampa (the kids didn't sleep at all until 5 mins before we touched down), got our luggage, got the van from long term parking, took Robert to his work parking garage to get his car and drove home. I think we got home around 12 or 1 am on Monday morning.

It was a crazy, sleepless weekend, but we ended up having fun so I guess it was worth it. Although we are now all getting colds....yucky Illinois germs and lack of sleep.

8/17/05 ~ We listed our house Monday morning! Here is the listing: http://www.marmls.com/scripts/mgrqispi.dll?APPNAME=Manatee&PRGNAME=MLSLogin&ARGUMENT=J5xlCWw2gptwRobgKZkocQ%3D%3D . On Monday evening we had 2 showings, one at 5pm and one at 5:30pm. Then a few minutes after I got home a nice older lady knocked on the door and asked to walk through it. I walked her through and gave her our realtor information. When Robert got home from work we went to go look at the new house. While we were gone our realtor called and said he had a guy that is a realtor that wanted to walk through. That was at 8pm, but we said ok and went out for dinner. That was 4 showings in the first day the house was on the market.

Yesterday morning I was taking Ryan to Preschool when the realtor called and said the realtor that walked through late the night before made an offer on the house. It was a pretty decent offer. He offered us $325,000, so full price, with a closing date of September 21st, but he wanted us to pay some of the closing costs. Robert and I talked it over and agreed to take the offer. Our realtor faxed the offer back to the guy and as long as his financing goes through and the houses appraises ok, we will be good to go. The house was on the market for just one day and we got full price! Florida real estate is just amazing!

We leave tomorrow night for an Illinois visit. It will be a short one, but hopefully we can make the best of it. We will be there until Sunday evening. I'm not looking forward to traveling at all....but I'm looking forward to seeing everyone!

8/9/05 ~ Today was Ryan's first day of Preschool!!!! It went very well. When I took him in he sat right down at the table and started coloring. Then he decided he wanted to take off his Stitch backpack and hang it on the hook by his cubby. When it was time for me to leave, I told him I was going to go and I would be back to pick him up later. He said ok. I asked for a kiss goodbye and he just leaned his head in so I could kiss his head...silly boy. I made it all the way back to the car before I started crying. I worried about him the whole way home. I stayed at home for a little while and then went back to the preschool to sit in the van and watch Ryan's class play outside. He was having a blast playing outside so that made me feel better. Then Emily and I went for a little ride around Lakewood Ranch trying to kill some time. I went back to the preschool a few minutes early to return some paperwork and Ryan's tuition. Then it was time to pick him up. He didn't want to leave. He said he had lots of fun and he drew me 2 pictures.

I'm so glad he had fun and I am extremely proud of him! He is getting to be such a big boy! I added some pictures from today in his gallery.

We decided to wait and list the house on Monday August 15th instead of today. We didn't get the landscaping done that we needed to get done over the weekend so we will have to do it next weekend.

8/4/05 ~ Yesterday was Robert's 24th birthday and our 3rd Anniversary. We had an open house for Ryan's preschool last night so we went to that and then took the kids out for dinner. After dinner we went to my mom and dad's and had cake for Robert's birthday. Last Friday Robert and I went to the comedy club for our anniversary so we didn't really do anything too exciting last night. Ryan's open house went well and he starts preschool on Tuesday. I don't know if I am ready, but Ryan seems to be and thats all that matters.

We are going to put our house on the market on Tuesday. Wish us luck. I hope we are able to sell it easily and that we can coordinate the closings close enough that we won't have to be without a home for too long or not at all.

7/24/05 ~ Well today was a weird day...I was stung by some jellyfish. We went to go skiing in the bay. Before I got in the water I noticed what I thought were baby jellyfish. I asked my dad and he said he didn't see anything. So I got in anyway and started to ski. I fell right away and my skis fell off. I grabbed them and started swimming back to the rope, when I felt what I thought was weeds until is started stinging me!!! They got my legs and then when I tried to get them off they got my wrists. I started yelling "Ow, Ow, Ow" and both Robert and my dad thought it was just weeds. Yeah right....I've never heard of stinging weeds. Anyway I got back up into the boat and my legs really stung and burned. Then we looked back in the water and saw some bigger jellyfish (along with the babies I saw before I got in) so I'm pretty sure that's what got me. The stinging stopped after about a half hour or so. I went to urgent care just to be sure all was ok since I'm still nursing Emily. I'm fine now. I occasionally get an "after sting" but I'm just glad that they were smaller jellyfish and that the sting wasn't too bad.

Then we got ready to go see Dragon Tales tonight in Tampa. We left the house, went and got gas, and then went to McDonalds. While we were waiting for our food in the drive thru our van quit. Robert tried starting it, and it died again. So we waited until we got the food, turned it on again and put it into drive really fast. We were able to get it back home and in the garage. Then we had to switch both carseats to Robert's car. What a pain! But we made it to Dragon Tales on time and we had fun! Ryan had fun buying all the cotton candy, pennants, flashlight etc, and Emily was a dancing machine! She had lots of fun dancing and clapping along with the songs.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. I'm going to have to take the car to the dealership. Hopefully the can fix whatever is wrong with it. At least it is still under warranty for 30,000 more miles and 3 more years.

Ryan is meeting his new teacher Tuesday afternoon at our house. I guess she is doing home visits to get to know the kids better. Hopefully Ryan will warm up to her since she will be one on one with him in his own environment. I'll let you know how it goes!

Oh and we had Emily's 1 year portraits taken yesterday. I thought they turned out pretty well! Check them out in Emily's Gallery!

7/22/05 ~ I took the kids to the doctor today for well checkups. Ryan had his 3 year and Emily had her 12 month appt. They are both doing great! Ryan did such a great job at the doctor. I was so proud of him. He told me before the appointment that he was ok, just Baby needs to go to the doctor, but he did so well. He didn't give us a hard time at all. They weighed him on the scale, measured him, took his blood pressure and gave him an exam. He is such a big boy now. Miss Emily did well also, but she had to get some yucky shots. Three of them, 1 in each arm and one in her leg. Poor thing. She had to get the chicken pox vaccine and the MMR which are ones that sting when given, then she had to get her last prevnar. She is growing wonderfully. Over 100% for both length and weight.

Here are their stats:

Ryan: 32 1/2 lbs

38 1/4 inches

Emily: 27 lbs, 8 oz

32 1/4 inches

They are going to be tall ones :) I guess they get that from their daddy!

7/19/05 ~ Emily's 1st birthday was yesterday! I can't believe my baby girl is a whole year old! I have no idea where the past year went...it just zoomed by. We had a party at our house. I made dinner for everyone, we opened presents and had cake! My mom, my dad, Alyssa, and Alec joined Robert, Ryan, Emily and I for the party. We had a fun time. Emily loved her presents although Ryan opened most of them. Emily just wanted to play with all the toys so she didn't mind Ryan helping her out. She would play with each one and we would have a hard time getting her to look at the next. One of her favorite presents was a doll stroller. She was so excited and pushed it around for a long time. She took her first steps last week and has been practicing walking ever since, so she was glad she got a toy that helped her show off her new skill :) She is doing very well with walking. She is pretty cautious still, but she can walk across the room all by herself.

She also received 2 dollies, a cabbage patch kid named Emilie, some books, lots of cute clothes, Little Mermaid and Cinderella blocks, a Little Peoples car w/ a mommy and baby, My Little Pony bike helmet, a telephone, a little play kitchen, her first little purse, and more. After we opened presents, Emily got to have her first chocolate cake. She wasn't sure at first, but dug right in and seemed to enjoy it. She got very messy and was trying to give us all bites of cake too! She was so darn cute!

I take both Emily and Ryan to the doctor for check-ups on Friday so I will be able to give their stats then.

7/5/05 ~ We spent the 4th of July at the beach! We went to the Don Cesar Beach Club in St . Pete on Sunday and stayed until this morning. We went with my parents, Alyssa, Rusty the puppy, and Alec joined us as well. The kids had fun at the beach and in the pool. We watched the fireworks from our beach cabanas. We could see the fireworks all the way down the beach. There were 3 professional shows going on (St Pete's was right in front of us) and a bunch of people were setting off their own fireworks too. Ryan was a little unsure of the fireworks at first, but warmed up to them. Emmy really liked the fireworks for the most part.

Speaking of Emily....she is such a little stinker. I just caught her trying to climb up Ryan's step stool again. A couple of weeks ago, she climbed up the 2 steps of the step stool, on to the dining room chair and stood up all by herself. I was behind her the whole time to make sure she didn't fall and was amazed at how well she climbs. She is going to be our little climber. She is starting to talk quite a bit. She makes a bunch of sounds and this weekend I heard her say....Lyssa, Rusty, hi, yeah and water (wawa). It looks like she is focusing more on her speech at this age. She has also started standing up without holding on to anything...just straight up from the floor. She is cruising a lot more and getting a little more balance.

Ryan has said good-bye to his didis (pacifer). They are broken so he doesn't use them anymore. He is such a big boy now. Next we will tackle potty training. Wish us luck :) He might now be ready quite yet. We will take it slow.

Nothing new with me, except I got a new swimsuit today. How exciting. Robert is done with school. He will get his associates degree in the mail soon. I think he is going to take a little break and then go for his Bachelors in Management at the University of Phoenix.

Our house is really coming along. The electrial work is all done and the rest of the rough trades should be (weather permitting) done by the end of the week. Then we will have our framing orientation.

I'll try to get the pictures from this weekend up soon. I took a bunch of the kids on the beach!

6/27/05 ~ Robert and I took the kids to see Dora the Explorer on Saturday the 18th. They had fun and enjoyed the show, but Ryan was excited to get to the Big Ball. After Dora we went out for lunch in Tampa and then left for Disney. We met Gma and Gpa at the Beach Club Hotel and then swam and had dinner. We went to Epcot the morning of Ryan's birthday and then we had a Blue's Clues party in the hotel room in the afternoon. Ryan got to open presents and have cake. He got lots of cool things. We went to a character dinner at the Liberty Tree for Ryan's birthday dinner. That was fun and yummy. We did get rained on that night as we were leaving Magic Kingdom. We were completely drenched, but that is Florida weather for ya. The next day we went to MGM in the morning, took a nap in the afternoon and had dinner at the hotel while it rained again. Then about 9pm we headed over to Magic Kingdom and took advantage of the Extra Magic Hours. We were able to ride lots of rides....It's a Small World, Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Carribean, and Robert and I got to ride Thunder Mountain Railroad. We didn't get back to the hotel until 2am on Tuesday morning. Tuesday we slept until 9 am and had breakfast in our room. Then we checked out and went to Downtown Disney for shopping and playing at the Lego store. We ate lunch at McDonalds and then headed home. Both kids ended up with a cold from being in the rain, but other than that we had lots of fun. Oh and gma taught Emily how to blow kisses. She is so stinking cute.

Other big news......Gpa bought a Cobalt speed boat! We spent this past weekend on the boat. Ryan wasn't too sure of it at first, but now he loves Gpa's boat and wants to go on it again. Emily loves it too. On Saturday we went for a joy ride and docked for lunch at the Mar Vista on Longboat. We couldn't stay out too long because Robert had to be back to go to work for maintence weekend. On Sunday we went out for a ride, then anchored at Siesta Key beach and played on the beach for awhile. The kids love the beach! Emily was having a blast crawling around in the sand and in the surf. By the time we were done she was covered from head to toe in sand. So I really do have two beach babies on my hands. After we were done at the beach we went to pick up Alyssa and Alec (Alyssa's boyfriend) at the house Alec's family is building on the water. Then we went waterskiing. I decided, after Alec wakeboarded and my dad skied, that I would try to waterski. I haven't tried to ski in years, but I actually got up and went a little ways twice. I'm glad I decided to try, it was pretty fun. Gotta love Florida living!

Robert and I have our dating anniversary coming up on the 29th. We have been together for 8 years now. We are getting so old. I can't believe Emily will be 1 in less than a month. Well that is it for now...check out the Ryan's birthday pictures and the boating pictures!

6/16/05 ~ Well my computer has been down since the end of March and Robert finally got it working again so I can update everyone. Sorry for the big gap between updates. A lot has happened since I updated last but I will just touch on some of the highlights.

Emily had her 9 month check up in April and she weighed 26 lbs, 6 oz and was 30 inches. I can't wait to see what she is next month. She started crawling and pulling up at the end of April and she is now standing on her own for a min or so. Ryan never crawled so it is kind of cool having a crawling baby. She isn't as interested in walking yet as Ryan was at this age because she can move faster if she crawls. Emmy's first word was mama and she uses it often to get my attention or to let me know she wants to nurse. She has also started making sound effect noises when she plays. She says Vroom Vroom when playing with a car and will growl when playing with animal toys. She is such a smart little girl. I have added her 10 month portraits to the gallery and hopefully I can add some snapshots soon too.

Ryan will be 3 on Sunday! I just can't believe it. He speaks in whole sentences now and I can understand almost everything he says. He has peed on the potty twice but thats it. He really could care less about potty training. That's ok, he will do it when he is ready. We have decided we are going to try sending him to preschool this fall. He will be going to a brand new preschool program called Sprouts every Tues and Thurs morning from 9-12. They are having playgroups this summer so the parents and kids can get to know each other. I think that is a wonderful idea. I will feel much better leaving Ryan in a familiar surrounding. The only place he has stayed without me is Gma and Gpa's (that's what Ry calls my parents) house. Our first playgroup is tomorrow. Hopefully it will go well. For Ryan's birthday we are going to see Dora Live in Tampa and then we are going to go spend a few days at the Big Ball (Disney World). Ryan loves Epcot and he calls it the Big Ball. I've added Ryan's 3 year pictures to his gallery too.

Ryan and Emily are great friends these days. They play very well together and really seem to enjoy being together. Of course they have their moments when they fight like brother and sister, but for the most part they get along very well.

We closed on our new house at the beginning of April and construction has begun. They finished putting the trusses and roof on this week. I will be adding house pictures to the site soon.

Robert is finishing up his associate program at Kaplan. He will have his AAS degree in Computer Information Systems in a few weeks. I've been staying busy with the kids. We are thinking about making an IL visit the weekend of August 20th. We will have to see how things go. I think that is about it for now. I will update again soon.

3/9/05 ~ We had our design session for the new house today. We had so much fun picking all of our colors and upgrades. I can't wait to see everything put together....only 9 more months or so to wait :)

We took the kids to Sears to have their pictures taken today since Robert took the whole day off. I am so happy with the way they turned out. Emily did wonderfully and we were even able to get Ryan into the picture too....although we couldn't get them to look at the camera and smile at the same time :)

3/8/05 ~ Hello Everyone! I can't believe it is March already. I have really slacked off with updating the website and picture galleries....I'm so sorry....I'm going to try to update at least once a month from now on. Since Christmas time has really flown by. House hunting has kept us pretty busy the past couple of months. We decided now would be a good time to sell our current house and upgrade to a bigger one because the market is so hot down here. I can't believe what the houses are selling for around here.

Anyway we just got a call from the bank today and we are approved to build a brand new 4 bedroom/3 bath/3 car garage 2311 a/c square ft house. We are building in a subdivision called Lexington in Parrish, FL. It is basically 2 interstate exits North of were we are now. It will take about 25 minutes to get to my parents house in Sarasota and it will knock about 10-15 mins off of Robert's drive to Tampa. The subdivision has a lagoon style pool with water play fountains, a basketball court, tot lots, and nature trails so the kids will have lots of fun living there. The builder is Bruce Williams Homes, the same builder that built our current home. We have been very impressed with their quality and service. We go to the Design Studio tomorrow to pick out all of the options, upgrades, and colors we want. That will be fun.

Check out the floor plan of our new house at http://www.bwhomes.com/locations/loc_LX.htm (it is under section B, The Summit). We are planning to add a gallery for pictures of the house while it is under construction so we can share the progress with everyone.

The kids are doing great. Ryan is talking more and more every day and Emily is developing such a cute little personality. All the older people down here just love her :) I can't believe she is almost 8 months old. At her 6 month appt she was 23 lbs, 4 oz and 28 inches long so she is growing quite well. I'm going to take the kids to have spring time pictures taken tomorrow so hopefully I can get some cute ones. Ryan hasn't been a big fan of getting his picture taken so we may just end up with pictures of Emmy, but we will see. I will add them to the gallery when I get them back.

I have a bunch of pictures from the last couple of months to add to the galleries. Hopefully I can find some extra time this weekend to get them up. So keep checking back for new pictures!!!

12/28/04 ~ December has been a busy, but very fun month for us. We (Robert, Ryan, Emily, Auntie Lyssa, and I) went to Disney on Dec 6, 7, and 8. We had a blast! The kids loved it and Robert and I had a terrific time too! We attended Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom on the night of the 7th and it was lots of fun. We had a family style dinner with the characters (Pluto is Ryan's favorite), watched the Christmas parade twice (we got to see the first one while waiting to be seated for dinner and we sat on the street and watched the second one), saw fireworks, drank hot chocolate, ate cookies, rode some rides, saw a show or two and had our picture taken. While Magic Kingdom was fun, I think Ryan's favorite parks were Epcot and MGM. Ryan loved the fishies (The Living Seas), Innoventions, and the big gift shop at Epcot. The Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground was his favorite at MGM. He had a blast playing there and didn't want to leave. He also loved the Osborn family Spectacle of Lights and enjoyed lunch at the SciFi Diner. Miss Emmy loved everything. She enjoyed all the rides, all the shows, all the lights....all of it. Thanks to the Rider Switch Program, Robert, Auntie Lyssa and I had the opportunity to ride some of the bigger thrill rides too. We stayed at the Beach Club Resort and Ryan loved their sand-bottom pool. He could play in the kiddie part without someone holding him. Emily loved sitting in the water watching Ryan play. She had her first case of the giggles while watching him and the other kids play.

Christmas was also tons of fun. The kids got a bunch of stuff...too much to even try to list. Thanks to Santa, Ryan and Emily are now proud owners of goldfish. Ryan is very into trains, tools, and computers (gee I wonder where he gets that from!) these days. Emily really enjoyed playing with all the wrapping paper. It was so much fun to watch Ryan this year. He was so cute leaving Santa cookies and milk, and waking up in the morning and running out to open his presents. He is a very polite little guy. Every time we told him Merry Christmas, he told us Thank You :)

We have had a wonderful year and we are looking forward to 2005!

11/23/04 ~ Emily had her 4 month appt yesterday. I can't believe she is 4 months old already. Anyway, she is doing great! Our chunky monkey weighed in at 19 lbs, 10 oz and was 26 1/2 inches long. That is over 100% for her weight and 95% for her length. Nursing is still going wonderfully and we will be waiting until closer to 6 months to start solids. This year is flying by. Thanksgiving is in 2 days. We have lots to be thankful for this year!

10/23/04 ~ We went to see the Wiggles today!!! We had awesome seats. We had 3rd row floor seats in the center, seats 1-3. We were able to see Greg, Anthony, Murray, and Jeff up close and personal :) Ryan and Emily had a great time and so did Mommy and Daddy. Robert and I enjoyed it as much as the kids did. Check out the pictures in Ryan's Gallery!

Emily's baptism went very well last Sunday. She cried through most of the actual baptism part but that is okay. We had dinner at Marina Jack's after mass. My mom and dad, Robert's mom and dad, Alyssa, Cinnament, Tony, Brent, Godmother Angella, Aunt Bert, Ryan, Emily, Robert, and I were all there. We all had a good time.

10/14/04 ~ Wow it has been awhile since I updated. We've weathered 2 more hurricanes since I last posted. Frances came through with mild tropical storm rains and wind. Ivan missed us, but Jeanne made her presence known with strong tropical force winds and a bunch of rain. We had some water damage in our living room because of a poorly installed window. Luckily, our builders ( Bruce Williams Homes) are taking care of everything and our living room is almost back to normal.

Ryan and Emily are keeping me busy. Emily is doing great. She had her 2 month appt 3 weeks ago. She was 15 lbs even and 24 1/2 inches long. She is growing extremely well. Nursing is still going well.

Robert was recently promoted at work. He is now an SAP Administrator for Walter Industries. He is responsible for SAP (a large computer system Walter Industries uses) access and security. Robert is excited about the new opportunity and it is a position with lots of growth potential.

We are baptizing Emily on Sunday. Hopefully I will have lots of new pictures of her big day to post for everyone.

October is a busy month for us. We are going to see The Wiggles next weekend and the weekend after that is Halloween. It will be Christmas before we know it. Speaking of Halloween....Ryan is going to be a little Frankenstein and Emily is going to Snow White. The costumes are so cute...I can't wait to dress them up and go trick-or-treating!

8/17/04 ~ We had a pretty scary start to this past weekend. Hurricane Charley was heading our way and we were evacuated from our house on Thursday (the 12th). We live close to the Braden River so we are in a mandatory evacuation zone B. We went to my parents house Thursday night at 11:30 pm after preparing the house for the hurricane and stayed the night. Friday morning we woke up and prepared my parents house. We got our safe room ready in their master bedroom closet and we watched tv as we waited to see where Charley was going to go. For awhile they were predicting the category 4 hurricane would hit on the Manatee/Sarasota county line which is very close to us. It was pretty scary there for awhile. Then Charley turned and entered Charlotte Harbor (about 45 mins south of here). All we had was light wind and some rain fall. We are very lucky and very thankful Charley missed us. My heart goes out to all of those affected by Charley.

8/6/04 ~ Well I haven't updated in awhile so I thought I would update you all on the excitement of the past month.

Miss Emily Jean Wahl arrived on July 19, 2004. I was scheduled for a repeat c-section on July 21, but on the morning of the 19th I woke up at 4:30 for a potty break and realized I was bleeding. I called labor and delivery and they had me come in to get checked out. When we got to the hospital they hooked me up to the monitors in the l&d triage. They didn't want to check my dialation progress in case I was bleeding from a placental problem. I was contracting regularly, but only a couple of them were strong enough for me to really feel. The nurse called Dr. Towsley and came in to tell us we were having a baby later that morning. They prepped me quickly for surgery and got the cord blood kit (we collected and stored Emily's cord blood) ready. As they were wheeling me to the OR, the nurses stopped us and said that a lady just came in at 32 weeks with her water broken and a breech baby so we were bumped back a little bit. We waited about and hour or so and then it was really time to go. They took me back into the OR and started to set up for surgery. We they were about ready they gave me a spinal. My blood pressure dropped and I started heaving until they got my blood pressure back to normal. After that I felt wonderful :) The spinal relaxed me and I couldn't feel anything below my braline. Then they brought Robert into the room and Emily was born at 9:08 am. She was 8 lbs, 3 oz and 21 inches. I was able to see them clean her up and everything this time. She was (and still is) perfect. They brought her over to me so I could see, touch and kiss her, then she went to the nursery with Daddy while I went to recovery. My c-section experience was much better this time around. I was very calm through the whole procedure and actually enjoyed the birth experience.

We stayed in the hospital for 2 nights and then came home. Robert stayed home with us for the first week and a half and then went back to work. Alyssa has been helping out for the past week. I'm recovering pretty well. I'm still pretty sore and I am not able to lift Ryan...I think that is the hardest part. I hate not being able to pick him up when he wants me to hold him.

Emily is doing wonderfully. She had her 2 week checkup on Monday and she is growing like a weed. She was 8 lbs, 3 oz and 21 inches at birth. When we left the hospital she was 7 lbs, 10 oz and on Monday she was 9 lbs, 10 oz. My little eater gained 2 lbs in 2 weeks. We are breastfeeding and she is a great little nurser. She also grew an inch and a half.

Ryan is really starting to interact with Emily. He wasn't too sure of her at first, but now he is very sweet with her. He calls her Emmy. If she cries, he will come running in to check on her. He pats her and tells her "It's Ok". Ryan will sit with me and pat Emily's head and her toes and he likes to find her belly button. I really love watching them interact with each other.

I guess that pretty much brings us up to date. I have more pictures to put in the gallery but I haven't gotten I chance to upload them yet. I will try to do that soon!

7/8/04 ~ We spent the 4th of July on St Pete Beach. Ryan had a blast playing on the beach as usual. He wasn't too sure of the fireworks at first but got into them more as he cuddled up to Daddy.

Less than 2 weeks until we meet Emily. I had a doctor's appointment on Tuesday and I am 2-3 centimeters dialated and Emily has dropped. Maybe she will surprise us and arrive a little early.

6/20/04 ~ We have a C-section date! Miss Emily will be here on July 21, 2004 unless of course she decides to come early!

Ryan's 2nd Birthday was yesterday! I can't believe he is 2 already. Time is flying by. We had his party at a play area called Fundamentals. He had 6 friends there and they had a blast. The party's theme was Finding Nemo. Ryan loves all his new toys and is having so much fun playing with them. He is really into trains, planes, and cars these days.

6/16/04 ~ We had another ultrasound today to check Emily's size. Everything looks great and Miss Emily is definitely still a little girl! They estimated her to be 5 lbs, 11 oz already at 34 weeks, 1 day. So she will probably be around the same size Ryan was when he was born. Check out the new ultrasound pictures on Emily's Photo page.

5/25/04 ~ Here is my 31 week belly picture. I am definitely feeling pregnant.

5/22/04 ~ Do you want to guess when Emily will be born, how much she will weigh, etc??? You can visit www.expectnet.com and register for free. Enter BabyWahl2 as the game name and take a guess!

We are almost done with Emily's room. I will take pictures and post them as soon as we are finished. My next doctor's appointment is June 2 so I will probably update again then. Less than 10 weeks until Emily is due to arrive!
